Josilyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from the University of Montana, followed by a Master of Science in Medical Speech-Language Pathology from Pacific University. She is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS). Over the course of her career, Josilyn has gained diverse, high-level experience across hospital, private practice, and community-based settings, including providing return-to-work job training for adults with acquired brain injuries.
In 2025, Josilyn opened Rise Above Speech Therapy LLC to provide high-quality cognitive-communication services for individuals in the Missoula community.
Josilyn is a fifth-generation Missoulian with deep roots in the community she proudly serves. Growing up surrounded by the people, families, and values that make Missoula unique, her work as a speech-language pathologist is more than a profession—it’s a personal commitment to giving back to the community that helped shape her.
Her passion for speech-language pathology is also grounded in lived experience. At 18, Josilyn experienced a hemorrhagic stroke and experienced firsthand what it means to navigate the rehabilitation process. Being on the receiving end of therapy provided her with a unique perspective of the physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges that accompany neurological recovery. This experience has empowered her to better understand the nuances of brain injury recovery and provide empathy, compassion, and clinical insight that is both rare and deeply meaningful.
Josilyn has since dedicated her career to walking alongside stroke survivors and individuals facing similar cognitive-communication challenges. She is driven by a mission to foster hope, healing, and growth, empowering her clients to rebuild confidence and reconnect with what matters most in their lives.
Her clinical expertise focuses on neurological conditions across the lifespan, including ADHD, traumatic brain injuries, stroke, executive dysfunction, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, and primary progressive aphasia.
Outside of her work, Josilyn is family-oriented and values time with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. She loves exploring the natural beauty of Montana and can often be found hiking, camping, fishing, hunting or supporting local festivals. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, crafts and bringing people together!
Kinley Munden, M.S., CCC-SLP is a native Montanan and dedicated speech-language pathologist who is passionate about helping individuals improve their communication and quality of life.
Kinley earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) from the University of Montana—Go Griz! She has also served as both a current and former adjunct instructor in the University of Montana’s CSD Department. Her diverse clinical experience spans across multiple settings, allowing her to work with clients across the lifespan. Kinley has a special interest in cognitive rehabilitation, aphasia treatment, articulation and phonological disorders, as well as early language development.
Kinley is known for her compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy. She partners closely with clients and their families to develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that support functional communication and meaningful goals. She is committed to lifelong learning and staying current with best practices to provide the highest quality care.
Outside the clinic, Kinley enjoys expressing her creativity through ballet, art, music, crocheting, and painting. She also loves caring for her plants, spending time with family, and enjoying Montana’s outdoors. She looks forward to helping clients and their support systems make meaningful progress while achieving their communication goals.
